Love Letters From Japan- My Collection

This collection was my baby for a long time. The sleepless nights and worrying over the details were quite a strain on me... so now my lovely readers you can see what the fuss was all about.
The collection is entitled Love Letters From Japan, inspired by Japanese culture and the geisha who exuded grace and poise. Using traditional silk fabrics, I used the modernist cuts and silhouettes to create a modern collection. Chiffon, silk taffeta and Japanese silk were used to give the collection a texture change and balance. Soon, more pictures will be put up and the collection will be for sale on an online store, till then hope you enjoyed these!

Prince Charles Kicks Off London Mens Fashion Week

Tommy Hilfiger, Dee Ocleppo and Prince Charles at a party to kick off the first London men's fashion shows.

The royal family has certainly been very active in their public appearences this year. Prince Charles hosted a gala event at St James Palace to raise awarness of mens fashion.
The dress code was "lounge suit" which is the  uniform of English men,and Cocktail dress for women.

Prince Charles greets the designer Tom Ford at a party he threw in the State Apartments of the St. James’s Palace.

The event started at tea time with the likes of Tom Ford , Tommy Hilfiger , Vivenne Westwood and Christopher Kane.

Prince Charles adressed the guests. Topics like the fashion economy were dicussed.

Isme Womens Fashion and  Clothing

Celebrities are more than familiar with intense media scrutiny – such is the nature of the beast. When it comes to the question of who’s wearing what, the judgements abound. Countless times we’ve seen Carol Vorderman adorning our media pages – her dress sense once again the subject of much discussion. The bedlam that her bust creates knows no bounds. Likewise the furore whipped up by her figure-hugging frocks.

The crux of the endless debate isn’t whether she looks fantastic or is fashion-forward in her style choices, but rather, whether a woman of her age should be dressing as she does.
Younger women’s outlandish outfits tend to be met with slightly more positive opinion. The wearer is likely to be classed as edgy and expressionistic. If interviewed about their style, it’s a given that their wardrobe is bursting at the hinges, full of unique, one-off finds from quirky little vintage stores. At the other extreme, even those displaying considerably more flesh than clothing are more generously described as driven, media-courting, business women.

It would seem then, that youth is forgiven everything, whilst age should know better. The older woman is supposed to know what suits your her body shape and to have nailed her sense of style. This doesn’t allow, however, for the vast variations in how we feel about ourselves at different periods in life. Inevitably, the inner workings are expressed by the outer shell.

For some, their own particular style is stoic, and they will fly in the face of fashion, come hell or high water. For others, an unbending faith in fashion presides, and they will sport the latest garb, irrespective of whether or not it displays their assets to the utmost.

Attitudes to ladies clothing and fashion have changed to a certain extent. Outfits that would once have been classed at best as outlandish, at worst as brassy, are no longer seen as such when worn by the older woman. This is evident in the way the former favourite of mothers everywhere – the elasticated waist – has been replaced by the yummy mummy’s staple, the skinny jean. Women no longer view fashion as the domain of the young and want to feel and look as good as they can – irrespective of age. If you’ve got it, you don’t necessarily need to flaunt it. But you certainly don’t need to disguise it either.

DIY Mirrored Collar

DIY collars are making the rounds now - But this tutorial caught my eyes for a sheer ingenious idea!
A fabulous tutorial from Aetienne.net

For this tutorial you'll need-
CDs
An old shirt
Chopsticks
A bucket
Glue
Sissors

Instructions:
  1. Cut out the collar from the shirt.
  2. Place the CD into the container, and pour boiling water into the container. (Be careful and use a cup or something!)
  3. Wait for 1-2 minutes. (Go watch an advertisement, or two.)

Pull the CD out of the water using chopsticks. Wait for it to cool.
Cut a section of the CD away.

You should be able to peel the reflective part away now.

Cut and paste onto the collar- done!

Origami Bow DIY

I've always had a passion for origami ,so when I saw this tutorial on Youtube I just had to make it !
It follows very simple steps and basic repetition. Remember, its easy once you've done the first crease properly.. When its over you simple have to stick it onto a hairband and its done!
You can do it with paper or plastic -I've done both..

To Make It A Fascinator
  1. Cut a square of felt out
  2. Attach it to the middle of the bow
  3. Glue a hair clip to it

Wrap the gold band around the bow
